You are 100% correct when you say PIP is a good thing because you want to work with people that support you!! a collaborative manager is not going to blindside you with something like this. They're going to have conversations with you during your one on ones to communicate where they feel or think you're not meeting the mark, siding, specific examples, and offer new opportunities to correct your performance to a level they think acceptable or even better yet, admirable.

Great advice, I worked for a consultancy earlier. I'm a good programmer but don't have as many team skills. I recently joined a product company, it's already 2 weeks but I don't feel I'm being given much work but I don't see it's being done intentionally. I'm slightly weirded out, but I'm hopeful and your advice helps a lot.

I'm sure Roger has people who will put together a speech and perhaps even come up with punch lines. But so is the case for big tech CEOs, presidents of nations and so on. They aren't necessarily there because of their ability to put together great speeches anyway, and I'm sure that the actual content of the speech, the life lessons and all had been put together by Roger, not necessarily how the speech was delivered.

That’s funny! I too thought I was good at tennis but my parents couldn’t afford to send me to lessons. So I picked running instead, a sport I have no talent for. Improved a lot and ran sub 5 miles, but I still wish I had the opportunity to play tennis growing up 😅

GOD I miss Roger; no one, literally no one, IMO, matches his class. Yeah, his records were mostly broken, but, for me personally, none of those record breakers come even close to this man. For me, it's not just the tennis records/wins/etc. it's the mentaility and personality that's different than anyone else. Thank you for the video!

I get almost all my productive work done between 8pm and 11pm. I don't know what it is, it might be the lack of notifications during that time or something about the sun being down, but I can just "work" during that time.
